'Volksmuziek'

Vanavond horen we vier bijzondere componisten die zich hebben laten inspireren op volksmuziek. We gaan op een muzikale reis door landen als Noorwegen, Hongarije en Tsjechië. Er wordt muziek gespeeld van Ysaÿe, Kodály, Sibelius en Dvořák. De musici kennen elkaar van hun studietijd aan de Royal Academy of Music in Londen. Tijdens dit concert treden zij in verschillende formaties op en vertellen zij ook over de muziek.

Tonight we will hear four remarkable composers who have been inspired by folk music. We will embark on a musical journey through countries such as Norway, Hungary, and the Czech Republic. Music by Ysaÿe, Kodály, Sibelius, and Dvořák will be performed. The musicians know each other from their studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London. During this concert, they will perform in various ensembles and also share insights about the music.
