Idyllic. Pure. The sound of England.
There’s little music that is so immediately associated with England and its landscapes than that of Elgar and Vaughan Williams. The haunting yet stirring Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis starts your evening, which is capped with Elgar’s tender and meltingly beautiful Serenade. In between you’ll hear Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings - music that’s brimming over with ideas, wit and energy, along with Bliss Music for Strings, and Delius Late Swallows.
